The RSPCA Halifax, Huddersfield & Bradford Branch is an independent local animal charity. Although we are proud to be part of the National RSPCA family, we are entirely self-funded and receive no financial support from the national RSPCA or the Government.

We’ve been caring for animals across our local community since 1936, and our Wade Street Animal Centre in Halifax has been our home since 1981. After more than 40 years of dedicated service, the centre desperately needed modernising to meet today’s animal welfare standards.

That’s why we’ve launched The Really Big ReFURb – a transformational £4 million redevelopment that will create warmer, safer and more enriching facilities for the thousands of neglected, abused and abandoned animals that come through our doors every year.

While donations of food, blankets and toys are always appreciated, it is financial support that makes a project of this scale possible. Every pound raised helps us continue the redevelopment, provide lifesaving care, feed and rehabilitate animals, and ultimately give them the second chance they deserve.
